$100K Challenge Contestants Host Labor Day Weekend Events

Every year, the ASPCA creates a top-quality wall calendar that we give out to our friends and supporters. Who should grace the cover of the 2011 calendar? We’re letting you decide—but hurry, you have just two weeks to cast your vote!

An affectionate dog named Barney recently celebrated his 13th birthday with a Bark Mitzvah, and in lieu of gifts, raised donations for the ASPCA, where he met his pet parent, Stuart, 12 years ago.

On August 25, ASPCA Special Agents arrested Matthew Soto, co-owner and daily manager of Bark & Play, a dog-boarding and day-care facility in Brooklyn, NY. He was charged with five counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty for severely neglecting several dogs in his care.

On Saturday, September 4, chefs will compete in the Master Chef Championship Charity Competition. The chef who sells the most of their specially-created dish will win a $5,000 donation to the charity of their choice.
