Not on My Watch: They're So Blue Without You

Five blue babies are sitting on death row. They've already been waiting over a week for a rescue. Each day that ticks by, is one day less they have to live. I hate pulling the “death card” on these babies, but their lives ARE at stake. It's the grim reality at HCCAC.

We don't have many options. I can't take them into my rescue group. Other groups have been contacted. None have responded. What we need to do is find a GEORGIA RESCUE group to come forward and save these babies. If not that, then the kittens need to be adopted. To do that you'd have to go to the shelter directly. No, it's not an easy fix. It never is. The beauty here is: WE ALL KNOW SOMEONE. THAT SOMEONE MAY KNOW SOMEONE ELSE WHO CAN HELP! THINK ABOUT ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Do any of them live or know folks in Georgia? If we network, we CAN FIND SOMEONE TO HELP THESE CATS.

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST with anyone you think could help or who knows someone who could help. We can DO THIS!

THE KITTENS DO NOT HAVE AN ID NUMBER. THEY ARE BLUE LOBBY CATS. Don't worry, they will know who you are asking after if you contact them.

We are very rescue friendly and are more than happy to work with any rescue group as long as the group has a valid Georgia Department of Agriculture license! Any rescue group, whether in or out of state, that takes pets from Georgia shelters, is required, by Georgia law, to have a rescue license issued by the Georgia Department of Agriculture's Animal Protection Division. Having tax exempt status is not the same as a license. For more information on obtaining a license, please call (404) 656-4914.

I would so adopt them all is had the money and room, i have 2 cats now and 2 is the limit here at the appartment. I hope and pray they find a forever home soon

Winging Cat Rescue usually pulls in GA. Maybe they can help? True Blue Rescues and Calico Cat Rescue and Adoption just did an emergency pull from Floyd AC in GA and I know they have not been able to find donors or sponsors for The Blues they have now. They are a small rescue and can only pull in The Carolinas and they can't financially provide for any more. They stepped up at Floyd and found a local rescue who would pull on their behalf as long as they followed the rules of their Department of Agriculture license of a two week quarantine, most in boarding at a vet at great expense, when things looked grim and no other rescue did. They put their neck on the line. There were also kittens not listed on Petfinder, one that needed surgery and others intensive care because they were bottle babies. Another rescue must step up and soon to save these precious little souls.

I found out last night that WCR will pull the kittens if they become "urgent"...but from what I am told, the second those cats get the sniffles, they are put down so time is ticking...they ALL come out of there sick, it seems, if they come out...

It's been tough. Adoptions are DOWN, surrenders are UP. Donations are slow to come in. It's very very tough. That any cat or dog gets saved is a small miracle. Would be nice if someone with deep pockets could clear out all the chipin widgets for WCR and give them a break.

Just wanted to clarify that Robin didn't mean WCR puts down a kitty the second they get sniffles...

WCR

Of course, WCR does NOT put down anyone...HCCAC does!

I would love to adopt at least one of these beautiful kittens, but am located all the way in upstate New York...

Y'all wouldn't happen to know of anyone heading up here, would you?

:(

There are transports every week from GA to NY state! Take at least 2 though as they are small :) and kittens need a companion and who is better than a brother or sister!

I wish I could take them, and I would in a heartbeat if I could get away with it. I already have 5 adult kitties, 1 adolescent kitty, and 7 kittens... and my landlord doesn't know it! I will post this on my facebook page, though...

The blue kittens go like hotcakes here in Houston. If they are pulled maybe I can speak to the group I volunteer with here, Friends for Life, about trying to move them here to one of our adoption centers.

Robin-

Corinne Crammer has offered to foster. Maybe coordinate pick up & delivery of the kittens to her first thing Fri am? Henry won't put them down before then, will they. Do you have a number for Betsy to let her know rescue is immanent?
